MSR FCJ’s Turn an Ant was part of Happy I Have Your Head, one of the exhibitions we presented before the summer. In their works, MSR FCJ explores narratives that are constantly shifting and taking shape, from the initial painting of a personal drawing to the completed piece. Using arbitrarily chosen sketches and doodles, the duo is attuned to the unique and hidden story within the process, while the viewer may only begin to trace the narrative and decision-making when observing the paintings. As the duo has put it themselves, it is “like turning on the TV and watching a film halfway through: you can recognize a character or place, something has happened, and something is happening."
