Brian Kokoska graduated with a BFA, from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver. He is known for his monochrome installation with figurative paintings often depict monsters in pastel colors. The figures occupy an explicitly uncomfortable space in his works that is sexual, abject, crass and comic. Kokoska is showing one painting and a triptych sculpture created specifically for the exhibition.

Kokoska has been shown at Línconnue, Montreal (2017); Ashes/Ashes, Los Angeles (2016); Valentin, Rome (2016); Ohmydays in Singapore (2016); LOYAL, Stockholm (2015); Johannes Vogt Gallery, New York and Brussels (2015), among others. His work has been included in group exhibitions at institutions such as White Columns in New York, Musee des Bonnes Arts Mons, and Maine College of Art’s ICA in Portland.
