Overview

We’re delighted to be returning to Market Art Fair in Stockholm this year with an installation by the Norwegian artist Audar Kantun and the Norwegian architect and designer Henrik Ødegaard. Find us at Liljevalchs Konsthall from May 12th to 14th.

Audar Kantun (b.1986) is a Norwegian artist based in Oslo, Norway. Working within a figurative idiom where distinct colors and shapes fill the canvas, his images are cheerful and absurd, with a dark sense of humor - nestled between satirical cartoons and new national romanticism. Through large-scale paintings and ceramic sculptures, Kantun creates a singular universe of peasants, fishermen, and the drunken clientele at his regular bar.

Kantun has an MA from the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, having previously obtained a BA in Photography from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design. His works have been exhibited at Blomqvist (NO) Destiny’s Atelier (NO), and Kraft (NO).

Henrik Ødegaard (b.1982) is a Norwegian architect and designer based in Oslo, Norway. His designs are organically shaped and often made in local pine. Sustainability is an important part of his practice and leftover materials are saved and re-used for his future projects. Furniture and smaller objects have become an extension and mix of drawing and construction, making it possible to experiment and explore ideas intuitively.

Ødegaard studied graphic design at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and architecture at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design. He co-founded Grig Arkitekter, and co-created the design collective Pyton, which later expanded to an exhibition platform.

We would like to thank OCA (Office of Contemporary Art), Norway for generous support.
